The UCI Health Huntington’s Disease Center of Excellence is advancing care and community engagement under the leadership of Nicolas Phielipp, MD, building on its role as a Huntington’s Disease Society of America–designated center since 2019. The program delivers multidisciplinary care that includes genetic counseling, specialty neurologic care and integrated support from rehabilitation therapists and social workers for both patients and families.

New initiatives include the Rare Neurological Diseases Multidisciplinary Clinic, led by Ravi Rajmohan, MD, PhD, which streamlines care by enabling patients to see multiple specialists in a single coordinated visit. Expanded collaboration with community partners has strengthened access to resources and support services, while ongoing research efforts, including participation in the global Enroll-HD study and a $12 million CIRM-funded stem cell clinical trial led by Leslie Thompson, PhD, continue to position UCI at the forefront of innovation in Huntington’s disease.
