Pediatric Dermatology Clinic now accepting referrals for complex cases

The UCI Health Department of Dermatology announces the launch of a Pediatric Dermatology Clinic led by Maria Gnarra Buethe, MD, PhD, Director of Pediatric Dermatology at UCI Health and Division Chief of Dermatology at Rady Children’s Hospital–Orange County (RCHOC). This program provides subspecialty expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex pediatric dermatologic diseases, with particular focus on vascular anomalies, genodermatoses, and rare or diagnostically challenging skin disorders.

Through the close collaboration between UCI Health and RCHOC, the clinic offers tertiary-level, academic care for infants, children, and adolescents who require specialized evaluation, advanced diagnostic approaches, and multidisciplinary management. The program serves as a regional referral center for complex pediatric dermatology, partnering with community physicians to support the care of patients whose conditions extend beyond routine dermatologic management.

The clinic is currently accepting referrals for complex pediatric dermatology cases and sees patients on Wednesday afternoons at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute.
