The UCI Health Kidney Transplant Program reached a historic milestone in 2025, performing 233 transplants, the highest annual total in its history and reflecting sustained growth over the past decade. The program is the oldest and largest kidney and pancreas transplant center in Orange County and the only one embedded within an academic health system, enabling advanced care, research integration, and strong clinical outcomes.
Expanded partnerships with organ procurement organizations and a long-standing focus on living donor transplantation have helped reduce wait times and improve long-term graft success.
