Breast oncologist focuses on liquid biopsy biomarkers for care

Medical oncologist Ritesh Parajuli, MD specializes in the comprehensive care of patients with breast cancer. As a dedicated translational researcher, Parajuli focuses on integrating cutting-edge liquid biopsy biomarkers into the management of breast cancer patients. These biomarkers, including circulating tumor cells, circulating tumor DNA, and circulating cancer-associated fibroblasts, hold significant prognostic and predictive implications.

In his role as co-leader of the Cancer-Chao Family Comprehensive Center’s breast disease team, Parajuli spearheads a multidisciplinary group, driving the development of innovative clinical trial concepts and translating discoveries into effective clinical treatments. Additionally, he serves as the principal investigator on several breast cancer clinical trials, has authored numerous research papers, and garnered recognition through various research grants.

With a medical degree from Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Nepal and a residency in internal medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, Parajuli is knowledgeable and attuned to the needs of his patients. His commitment to advancing care was deepened through a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
