Chapters Transcript Video Jaime Landman, MD discusses a year of advancements in urology Our plans are to have a huge impact and bring diminishment in human suffering to every aspect of urology, providing world class urology here, and we already have people flying in from all over the country in the world to get their care here, but also to do research that allows us to transform the standard of care everywhere. My name is Jamie Landman. I'm officially the chair of the department of neurology, uh, but my real role is simply to make a great team look awesome, and my job is just to support them and make sure they're doing amazing work, the Discover Teach and heal mission, uh, and, and quite frankly, make sure they're providing the best world class clinical care on the planet, uh, doing research that will transform the world and provide education to make sure we can disseminate that. So if you look at UCI. world's best reactive sick care, which is healthcare as we know it, but also we have the Sam Wellley Center and other resources, so we want preventative health. So we said, what do we name a conference where we're going to say we're going to do everything humanly possible to provide great care for people and help them avoid disease or minimize disease while providing the best care when they get sick. We are taking our discover. Part of the Discover TTL mission extremely seriously, and one of the highest impact areas is, is neurologic oncology. There are so many people who suffer from different neurologic cancers, whether that's prostate cancer, the number one cancer in men, uh, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, testis cancer. So. Particularly proud of all the research efforts and that include our clinical trials. So, uh, Doctor Uchio is one of the country's most prolific clinical trialists, which means, that sounds real fancy, but what it does mean is he takes some of the most challenging patients, people who really are losing hope and provides them opportunities to enter clinical trials which may have a positive impact. And thank God, many people do have a positive impact with these different trials and new medications and strategies that he employed. Created by
