Chief Medical Officer Joe Carmichael, MD and Vice President, Health System Integration Doug Niedzwiecki, FACHE share goals and inspiration for historic partnership.
Hi, my name is Doug Net Zwicky. I'm the Vice President for Health System Integration at UC I Health. I'm joined, uh, this evening with Doctor Joe Carmichael, our chief medical officer and senior vice president at UC I Health. Hey, Doug. Uh, we're here tonight, uh, at our kickoff party, uh, with all the physicians from all the health care systems. Uh, and very excited overall, uh, this coming together of health care systems is almost 4000 health care providers, physicians and advanced practice providers. So it's a really exciting evening that we got to have to get together. And one thing we found out this evening, uh, and we're reminded of actually, is that a lot of us already know each other. It's, it's a close family already. Some of us went to school together. A lot of us. Uh, we were, I saw a lot of reunions tonight, people who hadn't seen each other for 20 years and, uh, including me and some of my people I graduated with. So it's been an exciting evening, Doctor Carmichael, that could explain a lot of the energy that we're feeling here. It's almost like a family reunion. And a, a little bit of a school reunion as well. Uh Did you see any or listen to any of the table conversations? Anything sort of piqued your interest? You know, I did, I, we, tonight we were talking about how, uh a distant view of this might be that this is just a merger of health care systems, but it's really a coming together of, of people. It's much more special than just big systems. And um tonight, people were really excited. Uh The med staff offices are telling us the applications are up for uh applications to the med staff at these hospitals. It's really really quite exciting. I had a couple of really fascinating conversations. Uh everything sort of ranged from great ideas to hey, we have this um new novel, you know, technology or we have had this and we'd like to really bring it forward. Um Did you have any like clinical conversations about either innovation technology or just how to provide better patient care? We did, we had the creative juices were kind of flowing tonight. I think everybody is just really uh enthusiastic about the future. And so we talked about planning with processes, how we could uh do more things for patients, uh clinical advances, we could bring to the various systems. And uh I don't know, it just, it was a great evening. We're really looking forward to just a solid collaboration moving forward. I think so many ideas were being spawned tonight conversation flowing and I think a lot of follow up conversation is gonna happen and yield out of this.
