Chapters Transcript Video Orthopaedic surgeon Nitin Bhatia, MD My name is Nin Bhatia. I'm the chairman of the department of orthopedic surgery, chief of spinal surgery in our department and a professor of orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery at UC. We handle everything from the bottom of the skull all the way down to the pelvis patient profiles, which are a good fit for my expertise include patients who really want to get there, believe it or not, some people, they had challenges and they're, they're working on getting better and we help them not just with surgery but with physical therapy, psychology, neurology, pain management. And for people who failed all of those treatments, surgery is a great option. So there was a few elements that attract me to spine surgery. To be honest, it's one of the technically hardest things to do in medicine. You really are working right next to the most delicate nerves and spinal cord. So you have to have experts like we have a UCIL taking care of your spine and spinal cord to make sure you have the best results. Maintaining strong communication with a referring physician in their office is critical in our patient's health care. We talk to them via the telephone, we send them notes. We often actually have each other's phones on our cell phones so we can call each other. Should there be a, a complex problem? Even a simple problem. We also have a spine nurse, case manager who works with us who really helps make those lines of communication even more dynamic, fluid and consistent. Created by Related Presenters Nitin N.
