Surgeons publish in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons
The nationwide study concludes that colectomies and proctectomies performed by colorectal surgeons were associated with improved outcomes compared to general surgeons. Data were obtained from the Vizient database for adults who underwent elective colectomy, urgent colectomy, and elective proctectomy from 2020-2022.
