The 5,000-square-foot Yorba Linda infusion center is equipped with 16 infusion chairs in a spacious, comfortable setting. The newly opened facility offers infusion, chemotherapy, non-chemotherapy treatment, hydration, and lab draws. It also features a nurse practitioner on site, a pharmacy, lab processiing, and an adjacent multispecialty clinic.
The considerations that go into playing in an infusion center. First of all, it is a long process in terms of time, in terms of the disciplines involved the charge nurses, the infusion center, nurses myself, the other physicians, surgical, and medical oncology. Uh And we also have to remember that high volume of non cancer patients that are free to occur as well, that we need to accommodate whether that be rheumatology, whether that be patients who are here for iron infusion or B 12 injections. Um We handle all that and more. I'm Matthew Keating. My specialty is hematology oncology. I'm a practicing UC I uh community oncologist who sees a wide volume of cancerous and non cancerous diseases. Uh This includes everything from our bread and butter, lung, prostate, colorectal and breast uh to some less common cancers such as thyroid. Uh I also see a good volume of leukemia and lymphoma here uh and various platelet hemoglobin and white blood cell disorders here in our Uciy Belinda Infusion Center and our clinic right down the hall. I feel an infusion center is important because it allows the patients around the local and even from places far away which uh in the site would be Corona the Inland Empire and uh surrounding facilities to have access to the latest uh clinical trials that they may not otherwise have access to. With UC I being the only academic center. I think that's an extremely valuable resource that we can now tap into at an even greater volume here in your Belinda. Um This is something that also allows us to exercise the bread and butter treatments. But in a way with UC I brand that nobody else does uh on the same level. And I do feel like the product that we offer here, the care and the passion and the just overall love is something that is not offered at any other facility in Orange County and even the surrounding areas.
