Our goal is to provide the ultimate care for our community by ensuring that patients can receive treatment close to home and return to their daily lives quickly. With our advanced protocols and state-of-the-art facilities, patients can undergo procedures and often leave the hospital the very next day. This approach not only enhances convenience but also supports faster recovery and better overall patient satisfaction. At UCI Health, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care that meets the needs of our community.
One of the most substantial programs in Orange County when it comes to cardiovascular care is our structural heart disease program. And this entails again collaboration of the surgeons, the cardiothoracic surgeons with the cardiologist. Integrating uh tricuspid therapies requires a skilled multidisciplinary team, intervention cardiologists, imaging specialists, anesthesiologist, and cardiac surgeons to assess each patient individually and tailor the best approach. I think UCI health really does an outstanding job with collaborative care. We integrate both the patient. Their family members, their primary care physician, and all their subspecialists and really try and make all of these patient centric decisions with the understanding that communication is essential. I would like to emphasize here the importance of partnering and collaborating with the. Referral physician who often knows better the patient and their family than we do. A few months ago we had a patient who had such severe problems that their cardiologists were not able to take care of that patient. Normally that patient would have had to be transferred either to LA County or San Diego County, which makes it tough for the patient and their families, but actually we were able to discuss and collaborate we reviewed all the testing via uh virtual meeting. We discussed with the cardiologists and we came up with a plan of action working with our cardiologists and our surgeons as well as our vascular surgeons. Patient is now doing well and rather than having to be transferred away from Orange County, we're able to treat them here. Very close to the hospital and they left the next day. I think this is the ultimate care we want to provide our community. A good example is how we treat our left atrial appendage occlusion system. When we meet with the patient, we discuss various different options. Once that discussion occurs, we actually present each and every patient before they go for a procedure to a group which is made up of the doctors performing the procedure. Our imaging experts both in cardiology, radiology, our nurses who are gonna be in that case, and we feel that this is one of the unique advantages of UCI health is that collaborative approach we really feel that this provides us with the best outcomes.
